Meet Ken Hines

I’m Ken Hines, a 79-year-old author who grew up in McFarland, California, and spent nearly twenty-six years in the military traveling the world and collecting stories. A visit to the Great Pyramids in 1987 sparked a vivid vision that became The Novum Chronicles, and since then my books have come from a mix of careful research, conversations with veterans and experts, and ideas that sometimes arrive in dreams. I write historical and geopolitical fiction (including Iron Reprieve), oversee the audio productions, and shape narration and pacing so the spoken book sounds like the story I hear in my head. I’m currently finishing Walter Hagen — The Golf Professional’s Hero, due in 2026, and my goal is simple: to get these stories in front of as many readers and listeners as possible. If you enjoy the work, please visit kenhines.com, leave a review, tell a friend, and remember to be kind to yourself and everyone you meet.

The Important Things in Life

I’ve played sports my whole life and earned plenty of accolades along the way, but the things that truly matter to me are family, past, present, and future. Leslie is my second wife, and we have been together for over 38 years. Though we don’t have any children together, Leslie loves and treats our four children, seven grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren as if they were her own. Together we’ve traveled the world, made lifelong friends, and shared experiences that still surprise and delight us.

Our children have built successful lives of their own, and Leslie and I are both incredibly proud of what each of them has accomplished, personally and professionally. Watching the family grow and thrive has been the greatest reward, and we feel blessed for every memory, every trip, and every quiet moment together. Life has truly been good to us.
